As a Branch Teller, you'll be trusted to support our members, with achievable goals to guide you and opportunities to grow within the credit union.
The Branch Teller III is responsible for assisting members in the completion of financial transactions, such as deposits and withdrawals, transfers, payments and other related transactions as well as approving transactions for tellers. Delivering member delight by addressing member concerns and questions and Identifying opportunities for cross-selling services and products. Also generates referrals to business partners accordingly while adhering to all credit union policies and procedures and ensuring the security of all transaction and member information.
• Processes member transactions efficiently, accurately, and in a timely manner such as deposits, withdrawals, transfers, sale or processing of negotiable instruments, cash advances, stop payments, address changes, wire transfers, etc.
• Provides timely and courteous service to all members such as servicing accounts, closing accounts, or completing related documentation, issuing/re-pinning cards, adding/updating joint owners/beneficiaries, opening new accounts, etc.
• Supports the achievement of unit sales goals by identifying opportunities for the cross-selling of Credit Union products and services and referring members to the appropriate business partners.
• Assists Branch Service/Relationship Manager with branch balancing and other related duties such as cash shipment ordering/acceptance/sell, surprise cash count, alarm testing, and branch audits.
• Responds to member inquiries in person, by telephone, or by mail. Resolves routine and complex issues with minimal supervision.
• Maintains cash drawer per assigned cash limits and policy and procedures.
• Balances own daily work and may assist with the daily branch balancing procedures. Accurately completes all related documents.
• May be assigned ATM duties including removing & storing imaged checks, adding cash & balancing the machine and removing the envelopes for shipping.
• Performs all operational activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations (Regulation CC, Bank Secrecy Act, etc.), and Credit Union policies and procedures.
• Provides coverage for the FSR concierge station as primary back-up.
• Performs routine office and clerical duties such as: requisitioning supplies, maintaining accurate and current files.
• Participates in all assigned employee development programs in support of the Credit Union's commitment to excellence in sales and service, continuous improvement, quality, and teamwork.
• Must consistently report to work on time, as scheduled.
• Other duties may be assigned.
• Must be flexible to work out of any location, as business needs dictate.
High School or GED
INTERNAL CANDIDATES- Minimum of 12 months of teller experience
EXTERNAL CANDIDATES - 24 months of banking teller experience or combination of 12 months Retail Banking Operations plus 12 months cash handling or customer service experience
• Must have a demonstrated mastery of complex teller transactions/functions using the Symitar system as well as a track record of accuracy and detail orientation.
• Must have a thorough working knowledge of products, services, insurance of accounts, account vestings, credit union documents, reports, policies and procedures.
• Must have consistently achieved goals (80% or better) in referrals.
• Must have a working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of office products
• Must have excellent listening & communication skills and outstanding customer service skills.
• Must have a demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced team environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously with a calm, friendly demeanor.
• Demonstrated proficiency in product recommendations and referrals.
• Must have a proven ability to consistently report to work, on time, as scheduled and consistently demonstrate professional manner & attire.
• Most recent performance review score must be meets or exceeds and no disciplinary actions within the past six months.
