Overview

The VP, Business Banking Services & Treasury is responsible for the strategic direction, sales execution, operational oversight, and risk management of the Credit Union’s treasury management and business banking sales functions within an assigned region. This role leads treasury sales, business deposit growth, and related service delivery efforts while partnering across Business Banking, Retail Banking, Brokerage and Insurance Sales, Commercial Lending, Operations, Digital, Fraud, Compliance, and Finance.

 

The position is accountable for building and leading a high-performing team, expanding treasury management adoption, deepening business member relationships, improving fee income and deposit generation, and ensuring consistent execution of the Credit Union’s treasury strategy. This leader also drives process improvement, supports product and channel development, and helps ensure the Credit Union delivers competitive, scalable, and risk-conscious treasury solutions to business members across California.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of business banking and treasury sales leader and staff responsible for treasury management, business deposit growth, and related loan/deposit sales activities across the assigned market.
  • Establish and execute regional treasury sales and service strategies aligned with the Credit Union’s business banking, deposit, and commercial growth objectives with the support of senior leadership.
  • Drive change management efforts tied to new systems, product rollouts, policy changes, process redesign, and enterprise initiatives.
  • Drive achievement of revenue, fee income, deposit growth, product penetration, and pipeline management goals for treasury management and business banking solutions.
  • Develop and refine business coverage models, calling strategies, and sales execution standards to improve member acquisition, wallet share, and retention.
  • Oversee treasury pricing discipline, sales governance, proposal quality, and consistency of solution delivery across the business portfolio.
  • Drive adoption of digital channels, fraud-mitigation tools, payments technology, and treasury innovation across the market.
  • Promote adoption of digital treasury capabilities, including online and mobile business banking tools, ACH, wires, remote deposit capture, positive pay, fraud prevention services, and other payments and cash management solutions.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to senior leaders in Business Banking, Global Transaction Services, Credit, and other internal groups.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, strengthen controls, reduce operational risk, and enhance scalability and service quality.
  • Help assess and mitigate fraud, operational, compliance, and reputational risks associated with treasury products, onboarding, servicing, and transaction activity.
  • Partner with Commercial Lending and Business Banking teams to identify treasury opportunities, deepen member relationships, and improve cross-sell effectiveness.
  • Participate in market planning, sales execution, forecasting, and performance reviews.
  • Ensure strong execution and consistent client experience across all TSO engagements.
  • Support product development, enhancement, and positioning based on market demand, competitive intelligence, business member needs, and the Credit Union’s strategic priorities.
  • Participate in market planning, performance reviews, sales forecasting, budgeting, and business planning processes.
  • Manage and oversee operational programs related to treasury and global markets.
  • Execute change-management initiatives that impact enterprise-level processes.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Fraud, Compliance, Risk, IT, Member Experience, and Project Management partners to ensure treasury solutions are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and with a strong member experience.
  • Improve workflows, reduce operational risk, and enhance process efficiency.

Qualifications

Education

  • Minimum
  • 4 Year / Bachelors Degree
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered. Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Graduate Degree
  • Master’s degree in the related discipline preferred

 

Experience

  • 10 – 15 Years of Experience in Treasury management or financial services sales experience, with proven leadership responsibilities.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Ability
  • Experience managing large operational initiatives or transformation projects.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with treasury workflows and regulatory considerations.
  • Strong track record of leading sales teams and achieving market-level revenue and growth targets.
  • Excellent management, coaching, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Deep understanding of treasury products, payments, liquidity solutions, cash management, and industry trends.
  • Ability to travel extensively and manage a broad geographic territory.

Pay Range

USD $155,627.69 - USD $249,004.31 /Yr.
