Overview

The Loan Portfolio Analyst Sr monitors, maintains, analyzes, and services a complex CRE and SBA loan portfolio, as well as underwrites and services commercial participation loans. The role follows Credit Union guidelines and strictly adheres to applicable laws and regulations to ensure sound loan quality and minimizes risk of loss. It also supports risk analytics by evaluating the Commercial/SBA portfolio and administering new and existing loans that range from routine reviews to recommending various actions to protect the credit unions assets.

 

Responsibilities

  • Collects and reviews financial statements, tax returns, and supporting documentation, entering the data into financial software for analysis. Prepares periodic loan reviews that document property and global cash-flow analyses, summarize all supporting documentation, and determine the appropriate risk rating.
  • Handles all aspects of loan servicing for assigned loans, including documentation collection, delinquency resolution, covenant and condition tracking, contacting members/third parties for information or clarification, liaising with loan participants to resolve questions, and processing payoff/reconveyance requests.        
  • Actively monitors lien position and proper vesting for all collateral, verifying recorded documents, UCC filings, and title updates to ensure the Credit Union’s security interest remains perfected.     
  • Manages and monitors insurance compliance across the portfolio, ensuring timely receipt and review of evidence of property and liability coverage, tracking renewal dates, and coordinating with borrowers and agents to resolve any gaps.       
  • Conducts periodic reviews of commercial real-estate loans, focusing on complex, high-balance loans and multiple loans to related borrowers/entities. 
  • Reviews the portfolio to determine whether individual loans require Watch List placement for enhanced monitoring, servicing, and make recommendations to manager for potential negotiations with the member to reduce risk not limited to principal pay downs and/or reserves.       
  • Cultivates professional relationships with existing business members through consistent, transparent communication.         
  • Provides ongoing servicing for commercial, participation, and SBA loans; prepares and files the SBA 1502 Colson Report as needed.       
  • Prepares SBA guaranty-purchase packages and Offers in Compromise.             
  • Collaborates with Accounting and Asset Recovery on commercial and SBA loan charge-offs.             
  • Develops, revises, and standardizes departmental policies, SOPs, and forms, maintaining an up-to-date version-control log for audit readiness.
  • Conducts advanced research on complex loan issues, supports workouts/modifications, and leads special projects or other ad-hoc assignments.
  • Prepares month-end data for accounting while maintaining accurate, audit-ready servicing files.
  • Upholds internal controls and actively drives continuous process evaluation and improvement.      
  • Mentors junior team members and partners with cross-functional departments to resolve portfolio matters.
  • Travels to visit collateral properties and conduct member meetings as needed.            
  • Promotes and actively participates in company events, modeling a collaborative, team-first culture that strengthens relationships across the organization.            
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned to support evolving departmental and organizational priorities.

Qualifications

Education

  • Min/Preferred: Minimum
  • Education Level: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree              
  • Description: Bachelor's degree in business administration or related discipline

 

Experience

  • Minimum Years of Experience: 5
  • Preferred Years of Experience:           
  • Comments: A minimum of five years of commercial real estate credit analysis and/or asset management experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Ability
  • Ability to read, interpret and analyze financial statements and to prepare cash flow and collateral analyses, as well as interest and payment calculations. 
  • Extensive knowledge of credit, accounting, credit policy and financial statement analysis.   
  • Excellent ability to analyze credits, as well as extensive knowledge of lending structure and sources and uses of cash.
  • Prior experience analyzing financial data and producing summary evaluations for management and/or agency reporting purposes. Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Current knowledge of Commercial Lending and SBA regulations and SBA servicing.  
  • Highly developed PC skills preferred; including Microsoft Office products, advanced Excel skill.       
  • Working knowledge of fee calculations particular to SBA requirements.              
  • Previous experience presenting to Management and Executive leadership.       
  • Experience with Symitar is preferred.            
  • Experience with CRE financial statement analysis software (such as Finastra, nCino, SageWorks, Bukers, CASH Insight, LoanVantage, etc.) is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Must be capable of working well independently and in teams.   
  • Contribute to large projects and are a force of proposition on their scope of work towards improvements and achievement.

Pay Range

USD $75,543.20 - USD $113,314.80 /Yr.
