Network Engineer I-Hybrid

The Network Engineer I is engaged in the administration, operation, monitoring, support and maintenance of local  area network (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), Servers, SANs, VMWare, Active Directory, Exchange, and Hosted  (Cloud) applications such as O365. Assists with the design, configuration and performance in a heterogeneous  technology environment. Assists with providing Tier-3 technical support for OS, Server, and Cloud applications.  Promotes and practices adherence to Information Security policies and best practices.

• Assists with the planning, coordination, and installation of hardware (e.g. LAN/WAN, Server) and software.     
• Assists with the resolution and/or coordination the resolution of infrastructure problems and malfunctions.             
• Assists to provide technical support and guidelines to IT staff and other areas through documentation.       
• Assists to maintain the integrity of infrastructure hardware and software through proactive maintenance.        
• Periodically assists with Information Security procedures and processes.         
• Assists with evaluations of new products and emerging technologies.  
• May participate in presentations to management.             
• Provides support for Microsoft 2003/2008/2012 Windows servers.         
• Provides support of LAN, MS Domain and related services, Active Directory, MS back office products, Exchange, IIS, SQL and other enterprise applications.    
• Assists with technical recommendations to improve network performance and support business requirements.      
• Assists to ensure reliability, performance, recoverability, and security of infrastructure components, operating systems and various applications.          
• Assists with implementations, configurations, coordination, maintenance, troubleshooting, security, usage monitoring, and capacity management.         
• Participates in disaster recovery planning and simulations.         
• Assists with LAN/WAN engineering of primarily Cisco based Switches and Routers.           
• Maintains and modifies IP routing and VLAN topologies. 
• Provides maintenance/support for Internet/WAN, Firewalls, DMZ, DNS, NAT, Policies, Routing and ACLs. 
• Assists with troubleshooting and performing tests to identify and resolve complex problems.   
• Assists to monitor network resources and carriers to ensure availability and performance.
• Assists with the identification, diagnoses, and resolution of problems affecting network performance.           
• May backfill and support other team members when needed; during business hours or after scheduled work hours.           
• Answers network-related trouble tickets/emails. 
• Supports staff as required to provide a positive customer experience.  
• Ability to successfully plan, document, and perform maintenance on production networks and adhere to change management policies and procedures.             
• Work within their team and have a direct impact on their tasks.

Education

• Min/Preferred: Preferred
• Education Level: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree            
• Description: Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred.

• Minimum Years of Experience: 0     
• Preferred Years of Experience: 2      
• Comments:   
• 0-2 years of related IT/Networking experience required.
• 0-2 years of experience with routers and switches.
