Overview

The Real Estate Loan Processor is responsible for processing mortgage loans from  application through funding while ensuring loans meet the guidelines established by the Credit Union as  well as federal and state regulations. Also provides constant updates to internal and external customers  on the status and progress of the loan.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently delivers service to delight all parties.              
  • Assists members with the loan application process and gathers pertinent background information.               
  • Analyzes loan applications based on applicable credit and property guidelines and program profiles.               
  • Orders and analyzes preliminary title policy, appraisal reports, and other data necessary for loan evaluations.
  • Accurately inputs all required information for HMDA.       
  • Ensure that all loans are processed accurately and are properly documented.
  • Maintains orderly files on each account with attention to complete and accurate detailing of all problems or correspondence.
  • Provides members with timely status updates of pending loans and with problems or questions.
  • Maintains open communication with members, loan officers, underwriters, and other members of the department as to the status of the loan.
  • Maintains open communication with vendors, appraisers, and any other interested parties to the loan transaction.
  • Advises member of final loan approval; requests and obtains any “prior-to-documents” conditions.
  • Prepares file for underwriting and/or policy exception when necessary.
  • Prepares file for submitting to closing department.            
  • Explores options for denied and/or marginal loans with Loan Officer / Underwriter / Manager.            
  • Assists in the department’s goal to close loans within assigned number of days of application.
  • Consistently reports to work on time as scheduled.           
  • Work within their team and have a direct impact on their tasks.

Qualifications

Education

  • Min/Preferred: Preferred
  • Education Level: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree              
  • Description: Bachelors Degree preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum Years of Experience: 0
  • Preferred Years of Experience: 3      
  • Comments: Must have at least 0-3 years of financial institution experience in a customer service role with a working knowledge of products, operations & regulations
Knowledge, Skills & Ability
  • Must also have:
  • Superior oral & written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment
  • Ability to obtain NMLS License within 3 months of hire
  • Exceptional customer service skills & a desire to deliver service that delights
  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of office products
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly and implement effectively
  • Proven ability to gather and analyze data   
  • Previous RE Loan Processing & experience using, DU, and Prime Alliance a plus.         
  • Learn and discover existing tools and processes to apply them along with their academic knowledge to achieve simple tasks.

Pay Range

USD $30.02 - USD $45.02 /Hr.
