Overview

The Loan Portfolio Analyst assists with the monitoring, maintenance, analysis, and servicing of the Commercial portfolio including CRE and C&I. Follows the Credit Union guidelines and ensures adherence to applicable laws and regulations to ensure sound loan quality and minimal risk of loss to the Credit Union. Participates in risk analytics by performing evaluations of the Commercial Loan portfolio and in the administration of new and existing Commercial Loans that vary in complexity from routine to at-risk.

Responsibilities

  • Collects and reviews financial statements, tax returns, and supporting documentation and enters it into financial software program for analysis. Prepares Annual Loan Reviews on assigned commercial loan portfolio (CRE & C&I) documenting analysis of property cash flow and global cash flow and summarizing all supporting documentation in order to determine the appropriate risk rating.
  • Handles all aspects of loan servicing for assigned loans, including documentation collection, delinquency resolution, tracking adherence to covenants and conditions, site visit on collateral, contacting members/third parties to obtain all necessary information and clarification on financial analysis materials and resources, liaising with loan participants to resolve questions, and payoff/reconveyance requests, among others.
  • Ensures the accuracy and completeness of the loan servicing file for audit purposes.               
  • Reviews portfolio and evaluates whether individual loans may require placement to Watch List for monitoring and servicing. 
  • Assists Manager - Commercial Credit Administration with complex loan workouts and modifications.            
  • Maintains open communication with existing business members.      
  • Performs research on complex loan issues, as requested.       
  • Participates in special projects as assigned.   
  • Follows established processes and procedures to maintain effective controls.
  • Proactively participates in process evaluation and improvement.
  • Work within their team and have a direct impact on themselves and their direct processes.

Qualifications

Education

  • Min/Preferred: Minimum
  • Education Level: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree     
  • Description: Bachelor's degree in business administration or related discipline

 

Experience

  • Minimum Years of Experience: 3
  • Preferred Years of Experience: 5
  • Comments: 3-5 years of experience

 

Knowledge, Skills & Ability

  • Ability to read, interpret and analyze financial statements and to prepare cash flow and collateral analyses, as well as interest and payment calculations.
  • Extensive knowledge of credit, accounting, credit policy and financial statement analysis.   
  • Excellent ability to analyze credits, as well as extensive knowledge of lending structure and sources and uses of cash.   
  • Prior experience analyzing financial data and producing summary evaluations for management and/or agency reporting purposes. Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Current knowledge of Commercial Lending
  • Highly developed PC skills preferred; including Microsoft Office products, advanced Excel skill.
  • Experience with Symitar is preferred.
  • Experience with CRE financial statement analysis software (Credit Quest, Loan Vantage, Meridian Link, nCino, SageWorks, Bukers, CASH Insight, etc. ) is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Must be capable of working well independently and in teams.
  • Use existing tools/processes to solve tasks/issues assigned to them.

Pay Range

USD $29.28 - USD $43.93 /Hr.
